The Number One Tip I Tell My Clients

number one

Every business wants more traffic to their website. The idea being that the more traffic you have to your website, the potential for getting more business.

Simple right? Of course, how do you get more traffic? There are many ways and some get into the “techie” arena, however, the number one strategy I tell my clients to increase traffic to their website is to start a blog.

Hold on….I can already hear you saying, “But I don’t have time to write a blog.” That may or may not be true, but before you dismiss this idea entirely, hear me out (or continue to read this).

First off it does take a little time to keep up a blog but maybe not as much time as you think. Second, the benefits of having a blog far outweigh the time factor involved in writing or putting a blog together.

Let me explain…any blog is better than no blog. Ideally for most businesses doing a blog once a day or once a week would be great. However you can do one once every two weeks or even once a month. Just as long as you’re putting up a blog periodically, it will help you rank higher in the search engines, thereby getting you more traffic to your website.

The search engines love new and relevant information on a website. And as long as you keep putting up a new blog on some kind of regular basis, over time you’ll see an increase in traffic to your site.

Below is an infographic I found on that shows more about the Business of Blogging.

There is also another advantage to having a blog….you are perceived to have expertise in your business about the information you write on your blog. This can be very powerful.

Plus there are many tips and tricks that make it so blogging doesn’t have to be that difficult. If you’re interested in some of these, leave me a comment below and I’ll be happy to share them with you.

  1. Great article Steve! Writing blog posts is not one of my strengths. I develop the article titles and hire writers to research and create the content. It isn’t that expensive and the results of constant blogging really help with SEO. Looking forward to seeing more on this subject!
